   Where and who we are

A multi-faceted, vibrant, and thriving club situated in a prime location on the Cornish banks of the River Tamar, just south of the Tamar Bridge and the Brunel Railway Bridge.

To the north of the bridges you can meander up past Cargreen and then on to Cotehele. Head a little further and you will reach the small village of Calstock, set in a deep valley and with its old railway viaduct towering above.

A 30 minute sail south and you'll arrive in Plymouth Sound, the sea-farers gateway to Britain's Ocean City. This  provides easily navigable access to the English Channel and some of Britain's finest sailing waters, including the picturesque coasts of South Devon and South East Cornwall with their idyllic estuaries, beautiful beaches, and quaint villages.

Established in 1898 we have developed in to a diverse community of individuals and family's with varying levels of interest in sailing.  Our members cover the full spectrum of ability from  day 1 novices to experienced world class competitors, and whether it involves sailing dinghies, yachts, cruising, racing or spectating we encourage an inclusive, safe and fun approach. Testament to this is the club's popularity, boasting a thriving cadet section  of 11 - 18 year olds and over 500 adult members. Old or young, rich or poor, experienced or novice, we welcome all those whose aim is to go ‘down to the sea in boats’.

We at Saltash pride ourselves in being a welcoming, active, inclusive and friendly club, working together to deliver what our members want in a safe and friendly manner.
